Why do they ride?

Motul
23 January

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DRG) is a motorcycle enthusiasts event which is held in several countries. Event leader Mark Hawwa, from Sydney, was inspired by Donald Draper's character from "Mad Men", a stylish guy who rides classic bike in one scene. Just look at it:

The main idea of "The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride" event was to change stereotypes about people who ride motorcycles. Another aim was to get attention to men's diseases like prostate cancer and men's mental health. The message started in and has since been distributed all around the world.

The idea was so good, that Mad Men's authors even did a DGR bike guide:

People from all around the world participate in the event, but we want to talk about only one DGR held in Russia in 2012. At first it was just a friendly meeting of six men. But now Russian DGR has more than 300 riders. Take a look:

Perhaps the most famous and stylish sidecar bike in the world — Ural from Russia. Heavy, 2WD, natural metal feeling using Motul Lubricants.
