On the way to the bivouac in Uyuni, athletes were greeted by a lake (it becomes a lake only after a rain). Uyuni is a typical Bolivian center. The locals walk along the central street, take pictures with the Alpacas and simply enjoy life in those two days of the year when the Dakar comes to them.
Bivouac marathon special site implies the lack of service with support cars, the riders do everything themselves, like everyday racers in the category of Original by Motul. The funny thing is that everyone is given a standardized set: a backpack, underwear, a sweater, slippers and something else that was hidden in the bottom of the backpack. By the evening, the whole dining room was full of identical twins. Even Carlos Sainz in a national sweater, checkered slippers, and white pantaloons — that's the real Dakar.
