Stuck in a small and treacherous ravine during the Dakar, both Mika Pisano and He Zhitoa spent most of their time helping others who were caught out by the same slope. Sacrificing their own stage time to help other competitors.
The Epic Stories by Motul are stories that reflect values like ingenuity, self-sacrifice and brotherly cooperation. Helping another competitor at expense of your own stage time. It’s these values that make the Dakar rally so special and they represent the true spirit of the Dakar.
This story is about Mike Pisano and He Zhitao, who were caught out by a slope that led them into a rocky ravine. And right after they got stuck, other competitors were caught out in exactly the same way, rolling or sliding their way down into the ravine. But rather than just thinking about how to get themselves out as quickly as possible, they stopped and used their tow ropes to help others. This is what the Dakar is all about.
