At last weekend’s MXGP of Finland, Team HRC rider Tim Gajser brought home his fifth world championship title. Wrapping up this year’s championship two rounds early, Gajser dominated from the very start and propelled himself to the top of leaderboard early on in the year, chalking up the wins ever since against a very challenging field.

His fifth win makes him one of the most successful MXGP riders ever. The Honda CRF450R rider started off the season with six wins in the first seven rounds and, while the sandy Hyvinkaa track wasn’t his best performance, he was still able to post six-seven results, more than enough to give him a 104-point advantage at this late stage in the championship.
Gajser’s winning streak with Motul by his side
Gajser said of his win: “Wow! What a day. I definitely didn’t ride my best, but I got the job done and that’s what I set out to achieve at the beginning of the day. Five world titles, and I can’t believe it. It really hasn’t sunk in yet. A big thank you to the whole of Team HRC, the people at the races and all the support from Japan. Also thank you my girlfriend and all the support I receive from my fans around the world. It has been great to see so many of you cheering me on around the track and I can’t thank you enough. It is a special moment for me and I am just so happy to have got my fifth title!”
Motul has been a long-standing partner and official lubricant partner of Team HRC’s MXGP squad. Of the importance of the collaboration in helping him secure championship wins, Gajser said: “We are all really happy with Motul’s products. I’m quite hard on the clutch [laughs] so we change the oil a lot during the year. It’s important for us to have Motul as part of the team. I don’t have to worry about the bike because I know I have these amazing products and amazing mechanics around me. So, I trust everyone in the team, which means my main focus can be to be the fastest on the track, finding good lines and just doing my job.”
Motul 300V – designed for tough off-road use
Honda uses Motul’s 300V Factory Line Off Road 5W-40 4T in its CRF450RW bikes. This lubricant ensures the perfect blend between high performance and reliability throughout extremely tough racing conditions. In fact, Motul 300V has been pioneered to be particularly well suited to high revs and is designed to protect the mechanicals from the tough demands of off-road racing.
Cloud Nine for Team HRC
Marcus Pereira de Freitas, HRC General Manager for MXGP, added: “I am so happy for Tim, winning the championship with a couple of rounds to spare. He works so hard and thoroughly deserves all the success he gets and to win five world titles is an unbelievable achievement. The whole of Team HRC also deserves a lot of credit, for working hard and helping him get everything right, week in, week out. It hasn’t been an easy year but no one has stopped working for a second, and it shows in the results.”

The next round of the MXGP world championship heads to St Jean D’Angely in France next weekend for the penultimate round of the series. Gajser will be pushing hard to add to his eight GP victories this year.
